Monsoons In Mumbai - Be Safe!
Just returned from the Konkani Sammelan in Toronto, Canada. For the last three days I did not read a newspaper, watch TV, or even access the internet. Thus this afternoon I was shocked to hear of the rains causing havoc in Mumbai yet again!

I pray innocent Mumbaiites are spared the wrath of the rain Gods! That should be focussed on the incompetent government officials. Mumbai deserves better governance!

I hope you, your relatives and friends are all safe and well. Stay dry.

My friend in Delhi said there is no rain there at all...
I will say a pray for Mumbai!

There is sweltering heat and power cut in Delhi...
While we in Bombay are seeing large pockets of our city slowly submerging under water...

Yes I am safe, thank you...Fortunately, my residence and office are in high-lying areas.
Where are you based in Japan? I had been to Tokyo a few years ago as a guest of the Honda Motor Company...
Cheers!

Glad to hear you are doing well.
My parents inform me that the city has essentially ground to a halt :-(
Nobody is taking any chances this year!

I am in Osaka now. We are having a small crisis here with North Korea. I am watching every news! I change from Japanese to USA to England. There are many different stories here.
How is the rain now?

Today was the first day when the sun actually came out in the last four days. Things are getting back to normal though some parts of the city are still water-logged.
Yes, even we have been following the Korean crisis. So what is your personal take? Will the situation aggravate or is this a kind of posturing by N. Korea to extract more concessions/aid from S.Korea/the U.S.?
Cheers!

RB.

Not sure what will happen on their side or even USA, but I know Japan is furious. They are trying to cease ANY kind of activity with NK.
I just want my family to be safe here in Japan. I think NK is crazy. Also, S. Korea said they were against what NK did...Not sure what they will do about it though.
What do you think??

SK has already put an embargo on food aid...But such acts will only make NK more furious...
It is like the bully you used to encounter in school. He will resort to posturing only to make a point.
In the case of NK, the resolution to all conflicts will ultimately come from the people there -- as it happened in East Germany, the erstwhile USSR and the ex-Russian satellite states.
I don't know which part of the world you are from but here in India they have a phrase in the local Hindi language: 'Pani sir tak pahanch jana' (Water reaching the head).
In other words, when the NK people reach all limits of tolerance, only then will all issues be resolved.
It will take time, but ultimately unification will take place...
Cheers!

You were lucky...all the local trains had grounded to a halt by late evening...
A colleague staying in Kalyan had to stay back near her place of work...

Who is this dancer whose userpic you use so often?
Kind of incongrous to see a lady's picture with a male LJ user's name, no?
Cheers!

Ha hA!
but girls use male actors as their icons all the time :-))

Besides I like this pose! - I use it particularly I was to convey a humble attitude.
