Vada Paav in Mumbai

[info]99kanitas reminded me of vada paav. This street vendor was doing brisk business near Flora Fountain in Mumbai. Simply delicious - see how some of the others are gobbling it!

HeeHee! I suffered too. So I walked aroung till i found a hot-dog cart at a construction site and got a 'hot italian' on a sub with roasted peppers. Burp! This is the closest you can come to a vada-paav in this country.
:)

That made my stomach growl, Arun! I am waiting for the 2 weeks to get over before I fly off to home. I plan to eat more than my fair share of vada-paavs in the following 4 weeks.

how did the vada-paav come out? with lasoon chutney? must have!
this is the only redeeming part of NJ - they have good restaurants serving such bombay foods.
:)

lucky you... here in minneapolis we have a very good authentic indian restaurant but it gets kinda boring when you don't have much choice.

my vada paav turned out pretty good and yes, with lasoon chutni ( yum ! )

yes, I did get dia***
I picked up Imodium at the local drug store for 10 rupees each tablet - worked like a charm.
So for two days I ate different types of yogurt rice, limbu-sherbert, and lotsa fruits.

Once I got over it during the first few days, then i went back to eating all the foods :-P
:)

Ooh... The best ones are found on Karjat Station. Tastes great with long Sahyadri treks in the monsoon, wet jeans and incompetent windcheeters!

I think we all have our favorites. Mine was at the corner of the road leading from Flora Fountain to Churchgate. By all those old book sellers. btw, this is closeby, but not THE one.

Now that we have good windcheaters, and hiking boots, how come we seldom go hiking?

Btw, this vadapav waala is quite a hip guy. He has a walkman plugged in while on the job...:-)
Or that may be a hands-free mobile phone too...!

Yes, I can. But, between you, Parag and Locks, am suffering from a food pics overload. ;-)

hey! good to see you back. Waiting to hear all about your trip.

Regarding pics. axe walmart; try your local Ritz photo place (or in the Mall). They are slightly more expensive, but worth it. Some may have holiday specials and coupons - keep your eyes peeled. Also, the Ritz here used to offer a frequent user card (like one of those Subway cards) use 9 and get the 10th free. DC must have local camera shops where the pros hang-out at.

Pl, pl, pl, no walmart or CVS.
(btw, hope you did not check-in your exposed film).
