Cucumber Seller Smiles

Outside the Mangeshi Temple in Goa, this lady sold cut cucumbers. It's a refreshing snack in the middle of a hot day. As I composed the pic, I was irritated at this guy walking across, but then I noticed her face light up at an approaching customer! Perfect! For her brilliant smile, and inviting pose, she deserved a post of her own! Notice the contrasting look on the older lady beside her. :-(

I suppose the framing could have been better and you could have used a lower depth of field.....but interesting expression

Recommendations for alternate framing/composing welcome. still learning.

Color coordinated at that! (She probably didn't decide on it seriously) :)

She has the confident look. Imagine what she and the other women could do with more resources and opportunities. Women's empowerment still needs to go a long way in rural india.

Those boys to sell them on the Bombay-Nashik route, ghats around Igatpuri. Always tempted to get some, then warned about the accompanying loose motions.

you can always get it whole and cut it yourself. Salt and red pepper is a must - bugs prolly not there.

my recommendation is eat chat the first day, get loose motion for 3 days, buy lotsa imodium and then enjoy the rest of your stay! This my experience from last visit (not by design, ofcourse!)

HaHa. I had not noticed the couple in the background. I am like that too. Mom or sisters are busy haggling and I carry a disgusting look ;-) "Just give her the money and lets go!!! They are usually haggling for 2 rupees! or whatever.
